Who we are

This website is run by Brass Lantern Studios Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17208101. We are the controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@brasslanternstudios.com.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the contact form we receive your name, email address and message, the page you sent it from, and any campaign tags in the link you followed to reach us. If you email or phone instead, we receive whatever you choose to include.

This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to run and secure the service.

Why we use it

We use your details to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to prepare a proposal or carry out work. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a mailing list.

Where it is stored

Form enquiries are stored in Google Firebase, in a Google Cloud data centre in the UK. Email is handled by Google Workspace. Both act as processors for us under Google's data processing terms.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to deal with it. If it leads to work, we keep the related correspondence for the life of the project and for as long as the law requires afterwards. If it does not, we delete it within 24 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can also object to how we use it. Email us and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
